Former Vanderpump Rules star Stassi Schroeder reflects on the impact of her being axed from the show prior to Season 9.
Stassi was among a long list of Pump Rules stars that have been after racism allegations against her co-star Faith Stowers it has come to light. Stassi, Kristen Doute, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright were also on this list.
Especially Stassi and Kristen, were put through the wringer amid allegations that the women had wrongly called the police to report Faith to a crime she did not commit. Since that incident and her subsequent firing, Stassi has claimed that she accepted responsibility for her actions.
Despite her claims of being responsible for her actions, Stassi has recently spoken out about the culture of abandonment.

During a guest appearance on the Taste of Taylor podcast, Stassi shared what readers will learn in her latest book, Off With My Head, including her understanding of why she was ultimately held accountable.
“I know there’s so much emphasis on abandonment culture with this book because that’s about all people know about me right now, like that, but I was wrong,” she said. “I’m not the victim in this situation, I’ve been wrong about the things I’ve done and I’ve learned from that, and I think what I really want to take away [my book] Off with my head to be isn’t that cancel culture is hard.
Stassi Says She Believes ‘People Can Change’ Despite Past Behavior
Though Stassi was quick to admit that she wasn’t the victim of the situation that ended her time at Vanderpump Rules, she believes people can change and thinks others should be open to the idea.
“People can change, whether it’s in a month or a year or 10 years, just as people can change and that should be encouraged, that should be celebrated. That should be considered cool.”
She continued, “I see all these other people out there who are about to be canceled or cancelled, because of things like in the past, and that person might not be the same person as they were then. Like, why does this environment exist, where, how, people [say], “People don’t change”? Yes, they do.”
Stassi also admitted that she withdrew from social media after the ordeal because she underestimated her ability to do so Dealing with the negative feedback. She also refrained from looking at social media due to the impact on her well-being.
“There were days when I did that [look at social media] and then days where I was like, ‘I’m actually going to throw myself off the roof of my house if I keep doing this, so I can’t.’ So I stopped messing with social media, except for Pinterest,” she noted.
Vanderpump Rules is currently on hiatus.
