In a viral TikTok, a so-called Karen’s Attempting to “meet the manager” completely backfired when Wendy’s employee refused to answer her questions – and ended up silencing her by using a bullock cart.
The video was posted over the weekend and by Tuesday had more than 200,000 views.
From the video chat, it looks like the woman is losing her cool as employees are closing early at a Wendy’s store in Columbus, Ohio. The woman clarified her complaint to the store management.
However, when an employee noticed she was recording, he calmly asked her to leave.
“You are not allowed [record], and I will call the police,” the officer said.
Undisturbed, the woman’s questions continued, and the employee left — or so it seemed. After clipping the video, it was revealed that the employee had actually picked up a flashlight and flashlight combo that he pointed at the camera and shouted loudly into the microphone, momentarily silenced the woman.
On TikTok, commenters fell in love with this impromptu customer neutralizer.
“Please tell me where this is so I can go there and give the manager and staff a 200% tip,” one commenter wrote. “Love the bull!”
Another joked that this should be popular. “I have been saying this for many years. Normalize ox horn in retail locations! ”
TikTok appears to be taken from two YouTube videos uploaded in April to a channel seemingly devoted to the incident. The first video is titled “Facing a Customer Rude to Wendy’s Staff Part 1″ and the second is titled “Wendy’s Employee shoves in the face of a customer”.
In the description of the first video, the so-called “Karen” elaborated on her side of the story.
“This Wendy’s advertised closing time as 1am on their website but when I got there around midnight on April 13, 2021 there was no service,” the user wrote. “I called the restaurant on 4/14/2021 to inquire about their actual operating hours and voice my disappointment that they did not adhere to their posted closing times.”
The woman dismissed the suggestion that she was rude to staff. “Please note, I am not insulting DESPITE in the rude way that I have been spoken to. I never even raised my voice. I was told that their operating hours were none of my business, they were going to close a week early and then he hung up on me.”
The YouTuber who posted the video, Kayla Wright, did not immediately respond to Daily Dot’s request for comment.
From all of this, it seems likely that this incident was driven by the inconsistent working hours of the Wendy’s location, which many TikTok commenters noted was due to nationwide. labor shortage.
“Many places close early due to staffing issues,” one person commented. “My Wendy’s closes at 10pm because of a lack of staff.”
“I’m in retail and we were closed late due to daily shortfalls,” repeated another.
Commenters on TikTok also reminded the woman to focus on the bigger issues in life.
One TikTok user wrote: “All on one Wendy’s burger. “Go on girl, life is too short.”
