Spirit Airlines’ ‘Karen’ refuses to exit the plane after using the wrong ticket

In a viral TikTok video with over 16.2 million views, a woman on a Spirit Airlines flight to Cancun, Mexico, is asked to show her passport and plane ticket. She is soon escorted off the plane as she was never supposed to be on that flight.

User Vonyetta Blackson (@vonnieb11) recorded the pilot confronting the woman as she sat right next to her in flight.

“So this happened for my birthday on my way to Cancun, Mexico,” the video’s caption reads.

At the beginning of the video, the pilot of the flight tries to reason with the woman since the cops were now involved.

“Then have me physically removed,” says the woman to the pilot.

The pilot then says that if she continues to refuse to cooperate, everyone on board the plane will have to disembark. Nearby passengers grumbled as they listened.

“Please ma’am, come on,” Blackson says.

The woman tells the pilot that she showed her passport and boarding pass. However, the pilot replies that she never showed her passport.

“I’m not afraid of your threats,” the woman says to the pilot. “Who else should I show my boarding pass? [to]?”

Eventually, the woman was escorted off the plane with all her belongings.

Users in the comments section were confused by the altercation.

“If you want this pass 50 times, show it 50 times!” said one user.

“Who argues with a pilot???? Who pisses off their own pilot???” commented another.

“Why is she hesitating? Just show it again and stop arguing. Honestly, they have rules, he’s a pilot, he’s doing his job. If there’s a mix-up, just do it,” suggested a third user.

In a second video, Blackson and her friend give more context to the interaction between the flight attendant and the woman. The video has over a million views.

Blackson’s friend explains that the lady had a ticket that didn’t go to Cancun and allegedly rushed onto the flight after quickly scanning her passport at the gate. She says the woman refused facial recognition and never showed her passport.

“Instead of arguing with her at the door about not wanting them to do that, they went out and got the damn cops,” the woman said. “They tried to give her chances.”

Before the pilot came out, she said another woman tried to reason with the alleged “Karen.”

Blackson’s friend goes on to explain that the woman texted her lawyer throughout her flight, claiming she was being harassed. The TikToker is convinced the woman has done this before to get lawsuits.

“She got on the plane and immediately started texting her lawyer, which means you must have known at the gate that you had fallen for some bullshit,” she says.

After discussions between the pilot, police and the woman, the TikToker says she finally gave up when she saw the law was involved. The plane then resumed flight.

“Obviously she didn’t have the right testimonials because she would’ve friggin’ sat back in her seat, so for all the idiots in the comments who act like they don’t have common sense… Use your damn brain, you damn moron.” ,” Blackson’s friend concludes the video.
