The hatchet buried. The cast of southern charm didn’t hold back during parts 1 and 2 of the Season 8 reunion – but has anything actually been resolved?
Shep Rose, Craig Conover and Austen Kroll faced the women of the cast: Taylor Ann Green, Olivia flowers, Madison LeCroy, Catherine Dennis, Naomi Olindo, Lev Bonaparte and Venita aspen in September to discuss all the ups and downs of the past season.
The reunion, which aired October 6 and 13, focused on the drama surrounding ex-boyfriends Shep, 42, and Taylor, 27, and Austen’s dynamic with Madison, 31, and Olivia, 30. (Austen, 35, and Madison called it quits in December 2020 after two years, while Olivia revealed during Part 1 of the Season 8 reunion that she and Austen were no longer together after less than a year of dating.)
Shep, who split from Taylor in July after two years together, found himself in the hot seat in both reunion episodes.
“You shagged another woman in Texas. Multiple women,” the clinical assistant yelled at her ex during Part 2 of the special, which was filmed shortly after their breakup. “Damn, it’s been two damn months.”
She went on to ask, “Why do you use women like that? Why did you use me like that?” For his part, Shep responded that he “doesn’t count points” and that he will “always love Taylor,” despite their current dynamic.
After Taylor called herself “the whore who stuck around long enough,” her castmates came to her rescue and tried to calm her down.
“I feel for both of them. I think Shep loves Taylor too,” Leva, 43, told the group. “I don’t think he treats you like he loves you. It makes me sad.”
Craig, meanwhile, managed to stay out of the line of fire for most of the two-part special, except when it came to his feelings about his ex-girlfriend Naomie’s brief romance with Costar Whitney Sudler-Smith. Naomie, 30, has also dished on her connection with the filmmaker, 54, who fans have caught sight of in multiple episodes this season.
The L’Abeye founder called the affair a “slow burn” and noted that they felt connected over the past few years, having lost their fathers.
“We’re still good friends. It was never more than a really good friendship, spinning for a second and then right back,” Naomie told the host Andy Cohento which Craig replied, “I think Whitney really liked you.”
While the Sewing Down South founder, 33, later claimed he “thought it was great” that Naomie and Whitney had hooked up for a short time, his co-stars didn’t buy it.
“I’m not going to say it wasn’t absolutely shocking,” Craig finally admitted, noting, “You just don’t date people’s exes.”
