MERRIMACK, NH (WHDH) — A robbery caught on camera Friday morning showed five hooded suspects stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of high-quality clothing at Merrimack Premium Outlets within minutes.
CCTV captured the moment five hooded suspects broke into La Ola streetwear and looted the wall displays around 2:30 a.m. Friday. According to surveillance video, the thieves were in and out in less than three minutes.
Co-owners Gabriel Vargas and Parker Cathcart said they were convinced it wasn’t the suspects’ first time in their business.
“They’ve definitely been here before or follow us on social media,” Cathcart said.
“Because it definitely looked like they knew exactly what they wanted,” Vargas said.
Vargas and Cathcart estimate that $55,000 worth of goods were stolen, including clothing, shoes and expensive, one-of-a-kind collectibles called “Bear Stones”.
“You can’t sell them [bear bricks] at every local pawn shop because we’re the only store that sells them here so people know,” Vargas said.
The streetwear store has a large social media presence with thousands of followers, which is why Vargas and Cathcart shared the surveillance video on their Facebook and Instagram accounts. They hope that someone in their loyal following will recognize the suspects, although their faces are not clearly visible.
“We do a lot for the community, so we have a big support system,” Vargas said. “At the end of the day, we’re here for the community and I think the community will ultimately help us figure out who did this.”
Police are now going to other stores in the outlet mall to see if they have surveillance video that may have captured the getaway car.
