Sir Elton John is doing better than ever at the age of 75 and insists he has never felt fitter.
The music legend is (finally) on her epic tour to bid herself farewell after 52 years of wowing audiences – and while it will be the last, he has vowed he has “a lot in the tank”. .
“I honestly think they’re up there with the best shows I’ve ever done,” Sir Elton said of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
“Everybody’s been boxed in and haven’t seen live music in a while, so I think people are ready for that.”
“My fans have been waiting so patiently for these shows, so I’m determined to deliver something really special. It’s wonderful that they welcome me with so much love and energy,” he added to the PA news agency.
“Plus, I’ve never felt fitter or in better shape. I play over 2.5 hours a night and have so much more in the tank.”
Sir Elton went on to say that the shows are “poignant” as he will be visiting some of the locations for the last time.
He started his tour, which had to be postponed due to Covid-19, in June and it is scheduled to run until 2023.
Right in the middle he played at London’s BST Hyde Park and proved he’s still the greatest showman.
The father of two recently worried for fans when he was pictured in a wheelchair, prompting some speculation about his health.
However, he later assured the public that after two sold-out shows in Germany he was “in top health” and “playing and singing at his best”.
He explained, “It was an extremely long walk to the plane, so my team kindly got into a wheelchair so I could rest my hip after the show. That’s it folks.’
Sir Elton’s latest album, The Lockdown Sessions, was released in October 2021 and went straight to the top of the UK Albums Chart.
His lead single Cold Heart (PNAU Remix) featuring Dua Lipa also topped the UK charts.
