Shocking Sexual Assault Case, LDS Church Fined and Quarry Quarrel on ‘Behind the Headlines’

(Bethany Baker | The Salt Lake Tribune) Stephanie Mateer filed a lawsuit against a Utah gynecologist who she alleges sexually assaulted her during an exam. More than 90 other women joined her case with similar allegations.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has agreed to pay $5 million for hiding prior stock holdings in a settlement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. More than 90 women say they were sexually assaulted by a Utah doctor. And a legislative bill would protect new quarries from county or community oversight.
