Sharni Williams aims for the Paris Olympics

When asked if the Paris Olympics was a realistic goal, Williams said she felt in good physical shape to get there.
Williams and Charlotte Caslick are the only remaining players from the 2016 Olympic roster.
“It’s not out of my reach,” Williams said. “It’s respectful of the team and I’m up there with the top girls. I will continue to step on the gas and give everything for it. We’ll see how that goes.
“The story I’ve already been able to write is something a little country kid would never have thought of.
“Life is short. If you’re retired, you’re retired. At the moment it is [al about] trust and believe in myself.”
The last time the Sydney Sevens was played at Allianz Stadium, Australia’s women didn’t concede a single point throughout the tournament. This 2018 performance will be almost impossible to repeat, but this is a champion team.

Australia won the triple crown last year: gold at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, a World Sevens Series title and a World Cup win.
“You can’t get past the Triple Crown. That was incredible,” Williams said. “The World Cup win was pretty amazing for me.
“Playing on home soil is the best thing in the world. You have people screaming and screaming and celebrating. The noise is for you and not against you. It can really change a game.”
