Shakira’s bizarre rap collab reminds her of Depeche Mode

Shakira and Bizarrap stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Friday, March 10th, where they detailed how their popular recent collaboration, Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53, came about.
Specifically, Shakira told the Late Night host that she felt it was inspired by a specific band. “It reminded me of Depeche Mode,” Shakira said. “When you listen, it has a bit of this cool, dark undertone. I love Depeche Mode. They are my favorites.”
Longtime fans know that she has been a fan of the group for quite some time. During an interview with 2006 The guard When asked about records that have influenced her life, Shakira quoted a specific Depeche Mode song.
“When I was 13, I was watching TV and the video for ‘Enjoy the Silence’ was on,” she said. “I was paralyzed. The guitar riff was captivating and I could feel a feeling in my chest. I said to my mom, ‘What do I feel every time I hear this guitar riff?’ She sounded worried and said, “I don’t know. That’s very strange.’
“It was something delicious and intriguing, and to this day I still get that feeling when I hear the song,” the star added. “Music has the power to connect you with people on a subconscious level and it’s inexplicable. And what about me and British accents? I find her sexy.”
