Shake Shack employees mock customers’ sauce orders

A Shake Shack employee and TikTok creator has made a series of videos mocking the chain’s customers — and one mocking a specific sauce request resonates with viewers.

The video, created by New Jersey-based creator Cassidy (@pure.cassidy), features two people in Shake Shack uniforms role-playing a customer-employee exchange that appears to fall into the I wish , we could say this and still keep our jobs.”

It starts with the client’s role-player looking into a Shake Shack bag and mockingly asking, “Uh, do you have any shake sauce?”

The video then switches to an employer role-player who replies in an annoyed tone, “You mean Shack Sauce, you stupid fucking bitch?”

The video, along with the accompanying explanatory caption, “This one annoys my SOUL the most,” resonated with commenters who know Shack Sauce isn’t called “Shake Sauce” and has garnered more than 690,000 views since it was posted on the platform for three weeks before.

“I used to hate it when they said ‘can I get the shake burger,'” noted one commenter, prompting the creator to joke back, “Well no ma’am we can’t put a shake in a burger to do.”

Another confessed, “I’m spitting out my water for saying Shake Shack Sauce.” The creator judged in response, “This is just as bad as Shake Sauce.”

However, one person noted, “They fumbled calling it Shake Sauce tbh.”

That prompted the creator to reflect, “That would be confusing for other shacks that have actual sauces and toppings for shakes.”

Some of the commenters alluded to having worked or worked at Shake Shack in the past, and shared their own complaints about the chain.

One shared: “If they call and ask if we’re open when Google says we’re not open in two hours.”

To which the creator admitted, “We just stopped answering the phone.”

Another noted, “Or if they say a shake burger,” which prompted the commenter to reply, “That’s my last video before that.”

This video, which follows the same formula as Shake Sauce’s, has a little less than 6,000 views in the same period as the viral one.

The comment thread reveals that the video had an unplanned impact on the creator. One commenter warned, “The Starbucks barista who started this trend got fired, stay sane lol.” This appeared to be a reference to a story the Daily Dot reported in October, in which a barista claimed, that a skit he did during work hours and posted on TikTok got him fired.

The creator replied, “Too late,” and later referenced his year on the job in the past tense in the comments thread.
