Server bangs customers who stay an hour after closing time

Staying 10 minutes after a restaurant has closed might not be the scariest thing in the world. But stay an hour or more and it’s likely that your presence is not only unwelcome but extremely inconsiderate.

In a recent video, TikToker Jacey (@jaceycamryn), who describes herself as part of “servertok” and “therapytok,” revealed a recent experience she had during a shift waiting for customers who stayed an hour after closing time .

She starts the TikTok with a pointed rhetorical question: “What’s the matter with you bitches?”

“This isn’t that 1970’s diner scene where you’re not far away and you see the guy in the background moping and in love and talking and sharing his coffee and finishing a drink,” says the server in the video. “This is not a 24/7 diner. We closed an hour ago. What are you still doing here? Why can I see your face and why can you see mine?”

Jacey says she understands when people finish drinking 10 to 30 minutes after closing time, but it gets annoying when customers stay long enough that staff have already started leaving a venue for the night. The TikToker also criticized customers who move tables without staff approval and sit down without waiting for the hostess. The customers Jacey describes in her video also left meager tips for her friend, who was her waitress, she says.

“And to have the audacity to come up with a $650 bill and tip my housewife $21, we do the math real quick,” Jacey recalls. “You took us for less than 4% an hour and a half after closing? I never want to see your face again.”

Commentators easily sympathized with the service worker.

“I got a table 15 minutes before closing. I put them [and] The lady asked “I know you all will be closing soon but we will stay later. Is that okay?’” said one commenter.

Jacey replied, “Why are you asking when you know it’s absolutely not?”

“My favorite [question] is “How much time do we have?” when they see the TVs are off, the music is off, an empty restaurant and we’re just standing there waiting for them,” said another commenter.

The Daily Dot reached out to Jacey via TikTok comment and Facebook direct message.
