BRIDGETON, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate a fatal accident in Bridgeton Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said the incident happened around 2pm near a busy mall near an intersection on St Charles Rock Road.

At least three vehicles were involved in the accident, police said. One person was killed and others injured. A car overturned on its side.

The name of the deceased victim was not released. The police did not provide any information about the condition of the injuries of the others.

The road has been closed between Fee Fee Road and Lindbergh Boulevard and will remain closed in both directions. It’s unclear how long the road will be closed or if this will affect afternoon and evening traffic.

A witness at the scene said at least two cars collided after one vehicle allegedly ran on red.
