Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher were seething after the pair clashed in the closing stages of the Miami Grand Prix.

On the final laps of the race, Vettel and Schumacher were fighting for the final few points as they came together at Turn One.

Vettel’s Aston Martin was spun around and had to retire soon after, while Schumacher managed to groom his Haas to the checkered flag, but was the last finisher to come home in 15th place after having to pit for a new front wing.

The two German drivers are very close friends, with Schumacher viewing Vettel as a fatherly figure and huge inspiration – just as Vettel viewed Mick’s father, legendary seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher.

But the two weren’t very happy with each other immediately after the crash, with Vettel saying over the team radio: “What gap was that!? Well that’s it I guess. Crap!’

Schumacher retaliated, saying, “Man, I mean, he just claimed my corner!”

The stewards decided that no further action was required after the incident.

It wasn’t the only time in the race that an Aston Martin and a Haas met, Lance Stroll and Kevin Magnussen also touched on the final lap.

It’s a big blow for both drivers as Schumacher misses his first points in Formula 1 while Vettel has just four points this season.

The inaugural Miami Grand Prix was won by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen while Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. completed the podium.

Leclerc still leads the drivers’ standings but Verstappen has closed the gap to 19 points while Red Bull is just six points behind Ferrari in the constructors’ standings.
