People waiting to see Phoebe Bridger perform were given coupons for a “free personality test” at the nearby Scientology center.

Commenters on the @cottagecoreboys viral TikTok post thought the Scientologists’ exploration of the area was fun, and even shared their own interactions dealing with the religion’s “missionaries.”

One user said, “They once told me they would hold my spot in line if I wanted to watch it.”

Another joked, “Phoebe set you all up.”

A third commenter shared, “They stopped me in Hollywood and wouldn’t leave me.”

Others were shocked by Scientology’s presence in the Tampa/Clearwater area.

One commenter shared, “When I came here I had no idea how prevalent Scientology is in the Clearwater + Tampa area.”

Another remarked, “I was at the concert last night and they gave me a ticket.”

Scientology was developed in 1953 by L. Ron Hubbard, an American science fiction writer.

Religion came under public scrutiny, especially afterwards Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath aired. The series highlighted the actress’ struggles with belief system and recruitment practices. That king of queens star went on to say that members of the Church of Scientology had been spying on and stalking them. She also compiled a long list of allegations against Tom Cruise, the church’s most high-profile member.

The Daily Dot reached out to @cottagecoreboys on TikTok for further comment.
