Brisbane Bullet Harry Froling was left with a huge surgical scar on the right side of his head after undergoing surgery to relieve a fractured skull and treat bleeding in the brain.
Father Shane Fröling released the picture on Monday, confirming the 24-year-old had been discharged from hospital.
Harry is recovering from injuries sustained as a result of a suspected one-punch attack that left him unconscious on Wollongong Street in the early hours of January 22nd.
“Harrison Fröling is out of the hospital and recovering,” Shane Fröling tweeted Monday.
“As much as we would like to engage with media and questions, we will leave it at that until police evidence is presented.
“He is on the mend, thanks for the care and love he sent.”
A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with racketeering and reckless aggravated assault after he turned himself in at a Wollongong police station.
Brisbane coach Greg Vanderjagt said once the police investigation is complete the Bullets would conduct their own investigation into the incident.
