The State Bank of India (SBI), the State bank of India, has called on its employees to limit their participation in the proposed two-day strike on 16 and 17 December 2021, which is being called by the Forum of Union Banks (UFBU).
The strike has been called to protest the government’s decision on two public sector banks.
SBI said the strike would not be in the interest of customers, investors and the bank itself.
Last week, SBI said it had made the necessary arrangements to ensure normal operations at its branches during the two-day strike. It added that it was likely that work at the bank would be affected by the strike.
“As suggested by the two-day bank strike on 16 and 17 December 2021, SBI asked the employees to reconsider their decision and not participate in the strike on said date. for the benefit of our customers, investors and the bank,” a statement released by the lender on Monday said.
Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, the strike will cause great inconvenience to the parties involved, the bank statement added.
SBI said it strives to provide branch and office banking services with normal operation for all customers on December 16 and 17.
However, in the event that the service may be interrupted or partially available, we also ask our customers to make good transactions in advance and use digital channels for payment/transfer and other related services,” SBI said.
