SAMRIDH Healthcare Blended Financing Facility Provides $350,000 to to Scale AI-Enabled Chest X-Ray Screening Software

The SAMRIDH Healthcare Blended Financing Facility announced on Wednesday that it has committed INR 2.45 crore (US$350,000) to to roll out the qXR artificial intelligence (AI)-based chest X-ray screening software to 50 locations in more than 15 states to scale in India. According to the USAID-backed facility, the software will assist medical workers in the dual screening of COVID-19 and lung diseases like tuberculosis in remote parts of the country. The company claims an estimated 62,500 people will benefit over the next 12-14 months., a health technology company, develops AI-powered solutions focused on pulmonary and neurocritical care to provide better care to patients. Known as qXR software, the software can detect 30 critical lung abnormalities in less than a minute. It can also quantify infection and give doctors and other healthcare workers real-time insights into disease progression, the company says.

The SAMRIDH Blended Finance Facility plans to advance its mission of scaling market-based solutions and building sustainable and resilient healthcare systems for India with other partners including, the company said in a press release.

According to Sikka, this collaboration allows them to increase their commitment to drive larger investments in market solutions that combine technology and innovation to improve access to quality and affordable health services for vulnerable populations.

Prashant Warier, CEO and founder of, said in a statement that the country’s remote parts are struggling for resources to deal with highly communicable infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and COVID-19.

“Our AI solution will significantly improve diagnosis, treatment and patient health. I believe it can pave the way for the deployment of advanced health solutions in more areas of public health,” Warier said in a statement.
