Salt Lake City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a hit-and-run

Salt Lake City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the car and driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on Redwood Road early Sunday.
According to a news release, the investigation began around 4:30 a.m. Sunday when someone called 911 and reported an accident involving a bicyclist at 755 S. Redwood Road.
When officers arrived, they found an injured 59-year-old man on the ground. First responders took life-saving measures, but the man died at the scene of the accident, the statement said.
Based on preliminary evidence, police believe the driver struck the cyclist as he was traveling north on Redwood Road and did not stop, the statement said.
The Salt Lake City Police Department is asking people who live along Redwood Road from Indiana Avenue to 500 South to check their doorbell and security camera footage from approximately 4:20 a.m. to 4:40 a.m. to see if they recorded something that might be useful for investigation, the statement said.

The accident on Sunday morning is the tenth traffic-related fatality in Salt Lake City this year, according to the press release.
