Salt Lake City police arrest a suspect after a man was stabbed

The two men argued before the stabbing, police said.
(Salt Lake City Police Department) Police Thursday arrested a man suspected of stabbing another man.
According to Salt Lake City Police, one man was stabbed and another is in custody after the two had an argument on Thursday.
Police received a report at 5:39 p.m. of a knife attack near 1875 S. Redwood Road. When officers arrived, they found 40-year-old Cody Myers with non-life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, Myers died after being rushed to a hospital.
At approximately 5:55 p.m., an officer located a 53-year-old suspect on the Jordan River Parkway Trail near 1800 South. According to the police, the man matched the description of a witness to the stabbing. The suspect was taken into custody and sent to the Salt Lake County Jail to investigate the murder and obstruction of justice.
According to police, it was the ninth murder in Salt Lake City in 2023.
The Salt Lake Tribune generally does not name suspects unless they have been officially charged with a criminal offense.
