The 30-year-old, who has won every trophy available to him since moving from Southampton to Anfield for around £35million in 2016, is said to have informed the club hierarchy that he is moving on after the UEFA champions this summer wants league final defeat to Real Madrid in Paris.
Bayern have had two rejected opening offers for Mane, the latter totaling around £30m. Liverpool are believed to be on the lookout for around £40million for a player whose contract expires at the end of June 2023.
Now Cisse Mane has said he should go where he feels best and he insists it is the Bavarian club.
“I’m telling my lads to try to sort out the contract issues so they’ve already found a base when their respective championships resume,” said former Birmingham City midfielder Cisse.
“I heard about Sadio at Bayern. For me it is a club that is second to none. FC Bayern is intense pressing football with a German coach. Sadio played in Salzburg in Austria, a border country, and that means he’s not venturing into uncharted territory. For me, the club where he will feel most comfortable is FC Bayern.”
Bayern could lose both star striker Robert Lewandowski and Germany international striker Serge Gnabry this summer, with the former out of contract in just over two weeks and the latter’s contract expiring in 2023.
Liverpool, meanwhile, lost striker Divock Origi on a free transfer to AC Milan earlier this summer, with their frontline likely to be further weakened by the expected departure of Japanese striker Takumi Minamino.
The Reds will sign Benfica striker Darwin Nunez for a fee of £64m, which could eventually rise to £85m, in a deal that could be officially confirmed on Monday.
