Russell Westbrook pointed to LeBron during Clippers-Lakers

Russell Westbrook picked up a big win in a game involving the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday night. Of course, Westbrook is no longer plying his trade with the Lakers as the team sold him before the deadline to the Utah Jazz, who bought him and gave him a chance to sign as a free agent with the Los Angeles Clippers.

While he wasn’t putting up the kind of numbers he did during his MVP days, Westbrook had a respectable 14 points on 6-for-12 shooting with four assists, three rebounds, a steal and a block in 21 minutes of work at 125 -118 victory for the Clippers. And apparently Westbrook had fun letting his most prominent ex-teammate know it was his team’s night out, as several people have pointed out that he kept pointing at LeBron James.

This didn’t just happen after jumpers. At one point James Westbrook threw a pass wide who – you guessed it – stood up and pointed at him.

“We’ve been saying to Russ for the past two days, ‘Russ, we’re going to match your energy. We’ve got your back. We’re going to come out with this win,'” Clippers guard Bones Hyland said after the game, per Miriam Swanson The Orange County Registry.

The two teams went into the night with even records, but the win moved the Clippers to fifth place in the Western Conference. The Lakers, meanwhile, have the 7-seed and are a game behind the Golden State Warriors for the last top-six spot in the West.
