Queen will not be attending any of the garden parties at Buckingham Palace this year
THE Queen will not be attending any of the garden parties this year, Buckingham Palace has announced.
No reason has yet been given as to why Her Majesty will not be welcoming guests to events in May and June, despite having recently experienced mobility issues.
There will be four parties in the coming weeks. The format of the events meant the Queen had to stand and greet visitors for more than an hour.
A statement released this morning read: “Her Majesty The Queen will be represented by other members of the Royal Family at this year’s garden parties, with details of attendance to be confirmed in due course.
“The Queen has given permission for the Not Forgotten Association’s annual garden party to be hosted by the Princess Royal, as patron of the charity, at Buckingham Palace Gardens on Thursday 12 May.”
The Not Forgotten Association provides entertainment, leisure and recreation for serving wounded, injured or ill and for former men and women with disabilities.
