Manchester United legend Roy Keane has tipped Manchester City to win the 2022/23 Premier League ahead of Liverpool.

Along with other Sky Sports pundits including Graeme Souness and Micah Richards, Keane made his title predictions and said the title fight will again be a two-horse race between the Citizens and the Reds.

And that’s despite the fact that Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal have signed a number of impressive players to compete for the top prize.

“I don’t think they will close the gap,” Keane told Sky Bet.

“I think they will be a little bit better. You have quality and you have the recruitment but you can’t look beyond Liverpool and Man City.

Keane’s former side United are going through massive changes this summer with the arrival of Erik ten Hag and the departure of the likes of Paul Pogba and the former Red Devils captain believes they could be in contention for the title in the future.

He added: “The manager will no doubt have money to spend as he recruits, four or five experienced players have left the club which I think is a good thing.

“But I still don’t see United competing with Liverpool and Manchester City, not yet.”

Together, City and Liverpool have won the last five Premier League titles and both have signed and sold key players in this transfer window.

City have signed prolific striker Erling Haaland and defensive midfielder Kalvin Phillips but have sold strikers Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus to rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have shopped forward Darwin Nunez on a record-breaking club deal, but he replaces Anfield icon Sadio Mane, who has departed for Bayern Munich.

With that in mind, Keane City supports: “Brilliant players, they’ve obviously improved with an incredible striker [Haaland] and they have one of the greatest managers of all time in Pep [Guardiola].
