Riley Keough appears to be honoring Elvis in Daisy Jones & The Six

The first three episodes of Amazon Prime’s rock-inspired show, Daisy Jones and the Six, dropped last night – and one very observant fan caught something interesting in the process. The series, which stars Elvis’ granddaughter Riley Keough in the title role, appeared to pay tribute to the king with a simple selection of accessories.

“Spoiler alert – in episode two of Daisy Joneslooks to me like riley wearing the same guitar strap as elvis in the ’68 comeback special,” the user tweeted, sharing a head-to-head comparison of the two relatives.

The post has since gone viral as fans go wild over the fact that it’s the exact same guitar strap – proving the costume and styling team really paid attention.

“We didn’t talk much about her family or her parentage β€” I respected her personal life very much,” said series costume designer Denise Wingate People about Keough’s style, “but I found this woman called Love Melody who made rock ‘n’ roll clothes in the ’70s.”

As it turns out, the Elvis connection that was embedded in the show’s style goes even deeper.

“She actually made two jumpsuits for Elvis Presley, so I had her make two nice long coats for the show,” she added. β€œOne is a long denim leather patchwork coat and the other is beautiful rust colored leather. She made them.”
