‘Ridiculous’: Gas Prices Over $5 a Gallon Have Mass. Drivers Consider Other Options Boston News Weather Sports

STONEHAM, MASS. (WHDH) — With gas prices in Massachusetts north of $5 a gallon, drivers said they are looking at other transportation options.

Mary Themeles said she’s buying an electric car to replace her Audi Q5 after realizing she’s spending $500 a month on gas.

“I reckon it will go up at $6 [a gallon] Sometime. Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous,” Themeles said.

Dealers say they’re seeing a surge in inquiries from customers wanting to go electric, and after a test drive, Themeles said she’s interested in making the switch.

“It’s definitely something to explore, it’s a great ride.”
