The co-founder of the restaurant-arcade chain Dave and Buster’s died on Monday from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police found James “Buster” Coley injured at his home in Dallas, Texas, on his 72nd birthday. Officers were called to the scene to investigate reports of a gunshot.

When they arrived, they found the restaurant mogul with an “apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.” He was taken to a local hospital where he died later that night.

That’s what his daughter Kate Corley said WFAA-TV that he suffered a massive stroke four months ago. The stroke caused damage to the “communication and personality part of his brain.”

Corley’s death is still being investigated by the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Dave and Buster announced Corley’s death Twitterand quoted his mantra: ‘Everyone is someone, everyone is a star.’

“Buster’s passion for hospitality, his standards of excellence and the deep concern he had for his team members were unparalleled,” said a spokesman for the chain.

‘His pioneering spirit and unwavering belief that ‘everyone is someone’ is what has laid the foundation for him to have served food and games to millions of Dave & Buster guests over the last 40 years.’

Dave and Buster’s was founded in 1982 by Corley and his business partner Dave Corriveau.

The restaurant was born while Corley was running another eatery in Little Rock, Arkansas. Its neighbor was an adult-oriented arcade operated by Corriveau.

The two decided to merge their offices and do business together. The order of the names “Dave and Buster’s” was supposedly decided by a coin toss, which Corriveau won.

The first Dave and Buster’s opened on Dallas’s Restaurant Row in a 40,000 square foot warehouse. Dave and Buster’s has since grown to over 150 restaurants in the United States and 2 in Canada.

Corriveau died in 2015 at the age of 62.
