Raytheon Receives $4.4 Billion Amendment to US Navy Contract

The Pentagon Tuesday said Raytheon Technologies Corp. RTX,
Pratt and Whitney Military Engines received a modification not to exceed $4,385,492,639 to an existing Joint Strike Fighter Propulsion Systems contract.

The modification requires long-lead production and delivery of propulsion systems along with components, parts and materials, the Pentagon said. The modification “also provides global parts requirements to include replacement engines, power modules and other hardware,” the Pentagon said.

Additionally, the modification will feature a Block 4 Short Take-Off Vertical Landing development test engine for flight test efforts, according to the Pentagon.

Work will be carried out at multiple locations including East Hartford, Connecticut, Indianapolis and Kent, Washington. Raytheon Receives $4.4 Billion Amendment to US Navy Contract
