ATLANTA – Rapper Gunna was taken to an Atlanta jail on racketeering charges on Wednesday after being charged along with rapper Young Thug and more than two dozen others.
A indictment on Monday in Fulton County Superior Court indicts Gunna, whose first name is Sergio Kitchens, for violating Georgia’s anti-extortion law. It was initially not clear whether he had a lawyer who could comment on the allegations.
The prosecution points to that Young thug co-founded a violent street gang that committed murders, shootings, and car thefts for about a decade, promoting its activities in songs and on social media. It contains a sweeping list of 181 acts that prosecutors say were committed as of 2013 as part of the alleged conspiracy to further the gang’s interests.
