Rammed Pride bus, banned Bible and defended gerrymandering in “Behind the Headlines”.

Salt Lake Tribune journalists tune in to the week’s top stories on the radio.

(Utah Transit Authority) This Pride-themed Utah Transit Authority bus did not appear at the 2023 Salt Lake City Pride Parade.

The Bible is banned in some Utah elementary and middle schools for “vulgarity or violence.” Records show that four Republican lawmakers pushed the Utah Transit Authority to remove a Pride-themed bus. And congressmen are telling the Supreme Court that Utahns have no right against partisan gerrymandering.

At 9 a.m. Friday, Salt Lake Tribune reporters Courtney Tanner, Jordan Miller and Emily Anderson Stern, and news columnist Robert Gehrke join Utah Public Radio’s Tom Williams to discuss the week’s top stories.

Stream “Behind the Headlines” every Friday at 9 am on kcpw.org or tune in to KCPW 88.3 FM or Utah Public Radio at www.upr.org for the broadcast. Join the live conversation this week via email at upraccess@gmail.com or Twitter @upraccess.
