MIAMI – Formula 1 fever has gripped the Magic City.
The Miami Design District won’t disappoint fans looking for activities and installations.
“You can see everyone. Fans and non-fans alike love it. The race, the parties, the events, everything. It’s crazy,” said Gus Otaduy, F1 fan.
The Tag Heuer Miami Experience at Jungle Plaza offers fans the opportunity to experience the track in custom-designed go-karts. Local 10’s Louis joined on Friday.
In Wynwood, teams Oracle Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri will be represented in the area of Northwest Second Avenue and Northwest 22nd Lane at the Racing Fan Fest until Sunday.
“We really wanted to provide a place where people can come and celebrate F1 and feel like they’re racing even if they can’t afford to come,” said Lizzie Brooks of SWARM Events Manager.
Racing Fan Fest is open Friday from 4pm to 3am and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 3am at 2250 NW 2nd Ave.
From a pop-up pit stop experience to race car simulators, being at the Hard Rock Stadium races is the next best thing.
“I traveled all the way from Colombia, from South America, to have this experience,” said Carlos Quintero, F1 fan.
The Miami Grand Prix is the second US city to be included in the prestigious 2022 World Championship calendar.
