The 96-year-old monarch is said to be looking forward to seeing little Lilibet and Archie when they arrive in the country next week.

Meghan and Harry are taking the children to the UK for the celebrations – and will likely stay at their Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage.

The Sussexes will be in attendance at the Queen’s Thanksgiving service on Friday – but the public shouldn’t “expect them to be at every event”.

The Queen wants her four-day anniversary celebrations to be “an occasion for the country, including her own family, to come together,” a source told the Mail.

She also reportedly “don’t want anything to overshadow it ā€” and that includes family issues.”

A spokesman for the Sussexes said: “The Duke and Duchess are
Excited and honored to be a part of the anniversary celebrations.”

This follows news that the Queen has taken a “mini break” to Scotland to relax and ensure she is fully fit and ready for her four-day Platinum Jubilee Beano.

The 96-year-old lives in her Craigowan Lodge in the Highlands on her estate in Balmoral.

It comes after The Sun revealed a wheelchair lift and steel safety ring had been installed around the lodge – so she could spend more time in Scotland.

The Queen has had a hectic few weeks opening the Elizabeth Line, seeing the Royal Windsor Horse Show and driving a golf cart through the Chelsea Flower Show.

She will be relaxing at the lodge, described as her “favorite home,” before the Platinum Jubilee begins next Thursday.

The monarch often travels to Balmoral at this time of year and usually stays for about a week.

Their break on this occasion is understood as a means to prepare for the anniversary weekend.

A source close to the Queen said she would like to have further short breaks at Balmoral and Sandringham where possible.

One said: “Last year it dawned on her that she could take these mini breaks and she’s really enjoying them.”
