THE Queen was forced to withdraw from this morning’s St Paul’s Thanksgiving service despite attending Thursday’s events.
The Trooping the Color opened the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, followed by the Monarch lighting the bonfire while Prince William looked on.
But it has been announced that Her Majesty, 96, will miss today’s national Thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral in London after experiencing “discomfort” during Thursday’s events.
The Queen, 96 and facing ongoing mobility issues, will watch Friday’s ceremony on TV while resting at Windsor Castle.
To kick off the celebrations, the Trooping of the Color took place at Horseguards Parade on Thursday.
Her Majesty, 96, was not at Trooping the Color but appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the RAF flight.
And in the evening, the tree of trees outside Buckingham Palace was lit up as singer Gregory Porter led a choir for the anniversary.
