Prince William is still “deeply upset” that Harry and Meghan are leaving the royal family, a friend of the future royal has said.
The Duke of Cambridge reportedly spent “no time” with his brother during last week’s platinum anniversary celebrations.
The brothers were at St Paul’s Cathedral for Thanksgiving last Friday but had no other contact, the Sunday Times reports.
Sitting on opposite sides of the room, they offered a glimpse of how their roles have shifted.
And Harry and Meghan’s exit from royal life is said to still be raw for William.
A friend told the Times: “He’s still deeply upset about it and feels let down, but he’s moved on.”
A pal admitted Wills had been tense ahead of the anniversary and was particularly concerned about the thanksgiving service at St Paul’s Cathedral – the only event the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended in public.
They said this was because “because he was incredibly worried about having all the family there and what everyone would say.”
The friend added: “He was so relieved that most of the media was covering everything about the Queen, Prince Charles and the children – they are the key people – and he was really happy about that.”
The Cambridge children are believed not to have met their cousins Archie, three, and one-year-old Lilibet last week.
Harry and Meghan celebrated their daughter’s birthday in the UK last Saturday and marked the special occasion with a low-key garden picnic at Frogmore Cottage.
They later flew back to California last Sunday before the anniversary celebrations were over.
