However, it is understood that Meghan Markle, 40, and Kate Middleton, 40, did not join the video calls to allow their husbands one-on-one meetings.

Harry and William are said to be “back to their old pals” terms due to the contact ahead of next weekend’s anniversary celebrations.

A source told the Mirror: “The brothers needed time to settle down. The family, including William, were disappointed with the way Harry and Meghan decided to leave the royal family.

“But now there’s a strong feeling that what happened is in the past and that they’ve moved on.

“William sees that Meghan is a good mother and a devoted wife and he’s really happy for his brother.

“It seems the two have healed the rift and gone back to their old pal terms.

“Meghan’s distance from Kate also helped heal the friction between the two men.”

The Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge have not spoken to each other since Harry and Meghan left royal life two years ago.

Meghan claimed in her interview with Oprah Winfrey that Kate made her cry during a bridesmaid fitting for their 2018 wedding.

But she is said to be looking forward to the celebrations next weekend and is flying to the UK tomorrow night with Harry and children Archie, three, and Lilibet, 11 months.

It comes after Prince William practiced for the Trooping the Color ahead of the anniversary today.

He took part in the almost complete run-through this morning as he prepared to step in for the Queen, 96, during her annual birthday parade next week.

The Queen’s birthday celebrations, which take place on June 2nd, see her troops from the Household Division marching and riding on Horse Guards Parade.

We shared today how Harry and Meghan’s girl Lillibet turns one year old next Saturday and throws a wrench in the Platinum Jubilee courtier works.

A source said: “Harry and Meghan will want to celebrate Lilibet’s birthday with their family in some way.

“But on Saturday the schedules are full.

“There’s not much scope for a birthday party for a one-year-old.

“These events were planned well in advance and the Sussexes have not made their plans exactly clear or public.” Prince Harry & William are having “weekly video calls” to bridge the gap ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee reunion, the source claims
