PRINCE Harry has “focused intensely” on investigating Princess Diana’s final hours for his new book.
Official court sources in Paris say the Duke of Sussex’s researchers were looking for information about the car crash that killed his mother 25 years ago.
They are believed to be involved with the ghost-written memoir Harry is due to release this year and related TV and podcast projects.
A source involved with the original crash investigation said: “There have been indications that Prince Harry is intensely focused on getting more information about his mother’s death.
“There are many people in France who remember the night of the accident. It’s only natural that Diana’s son would want to know more about this for his book.”
Royal commentators say the book will focus heavily on his agony following the death of his mother in August 1997.
Harry, 37, blamed the tragedy on mental health problems, which he tried to solve with alcohol and drugs.
Five years ago – long before he thought of writing a book – Harry invited friends of his mother to share memories and private photos of her.
The tome, written by US author JR Moehringer, is said to contain no criticism of the Queen.
But it is believed that Harry’s father Charles and his brother William will join Megxit.
Diana died in August 1997, aged 36, when the car she was traveling in crashed into an underpass pillar.
Friend Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul were also killed.
A French judicial inquiry concluded that the accident was caused by Mr Paul losing control of the Mercedes sedan at high speed while intoxicated.
A spokesperson for Harry was reached out for comment.
