Porter, Collins were ejected after scrap in Nuggets spurs

An incident in the third quarter during Friday night’s game between the Denver Nuggets and the San Antonio Spurs resulted in two players ending their nights early. With seven minutes left, Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr drove to the rim and threw himself at Spurs big man Zach Collins.

It looked like Porter Collins had something to say after the dunk that didn’t sit well with the former Gonzaga standout. Before the ball was thrown in, a referee blew his whistle, apparently to give Porter a technical foul for what he said. But things escalated when Collins approached him, bumped into him and the two eventually came face to face. While it didn’t turn into a full blown fight, there was plenty of hooting and some pushing and shoving, eventually leading to a number of teammates, coaches and umpires cutting things off.

Porter put his hand around Collins’ neck, but other than that, nothing particularly bad happened in the argument. Eventually, both players were assessed double technical fouls that sent them to their respective locker rooms. Collins had 10 points and nine rebounds at the time of his sacking, while Porter had seven points that night.
