PORSCHE has transformed Sally Carrera from the Disney Pixar film Cars into a real engine.
The bright blue 911 Carrera GTS, nicknamed “Sally Special”, is a dead model for the fictional favorite from the 2006 hit.
It’s the only car ever to be painted a special “Sally Blue Metallic” color and features the animated character’s pinstripe tattoo under the retractable rear aero wing.
The door panels are also embossed with the Cars logo – and it even comes with a “Kachow!” Mode to reflect Lightning McQueen’s catchphrase from the movie.
Other nods to Sally include chalk-colored leather and “Speed Blue” stitching, illuminated door sills, and turbo-look wheels.
Fans loved the resemblance, and many petrolheads were dying to get behind the wheel.
One said on Twitter: “Absolutely love this Porsche replica of Sally from the movie Cars.
“The pinstripe tattoo, the special interior and the great color are perfect. I want one.”
Another, who predicted the car could sell for $1 million, wrote, “Love this so much.”
The one-off, fully street legal, will be auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s on August 20th during Monterey Car Week in California.
Proceeds go to Girls Inc, a charity in aid of young women, and to UNHCR, which supports refugees from Ukraine.
And the buyer gets a clock that matches the engine, a car cover and a second set of wheels.
dr Sebastian Rudolph, Head of Communications, Sustainability and Policy at Porsche AG: “Vehicles need a face and a story, and the animated film Cars by Pixar has impressively done just that: bringing cars to life on the big screen.
“The story conveys values such as friendship, love and mutual support – and right in the middle there is a Porsche: ‘Sally Carrera’.
“Together with Pixar, we brought the spirit of Sally to life in a new way, not on screen but off screen.
“With this unique road-legal 911, the ‘Sally Special’, which we are auctioning for a good cause, we want to help people who urgently need support, in the spirit of the film character.”
Cars, which stars Owen Wilson, the late Paul Newman and Michael Keaton, is set in a world populated entirely by anthropomorphic talking vehicles.
Directed by John Lasseter, the co-creator of Toy Story and A Bug’s Life, it follows a racer named Lightning McQueen as he becomes stranded on his way to the biggest event of his life.
