Popeye’s Worker only lists items that the store has

A drive-through customer shared the sad state of his local Popeyes on TikTok.

In a video with over 369,000 views, TikTok user Tiffany (@tiffanyveronica_) shows off a drive-thru at a Chicago-area Popeyes. The employee then presents a full list of everything the restaurant is currently lacking, including dipping sauces, condiments, lots of accompaniments and mugs for drinks.

“We have chicken tenders and nuggets, but we don’t have dipping sauces,” says the worker. “The only three sides we have available are red beans with no rice, puree with no sauce, and fries. …And we don’t have mugs for your drinks.”

In the comments section, many users claimed that this is a common occurrence at their local Popeyes.

“I picked up a delivery for a customer at a Popeyes…all they had was chicken, mashed potatoes, cookies…nothing that came with the order…” recalled one user.

“I work at Popeyes and there’s literally never anything,” added another.

“I went to the same one and they only had legs and they gave us cookies to replace the cookies,” claimed a third.

“I literally jump up and be like, ‘What do you guys have today?'” said another TikToker. “Popeyes in Chicago is a joke.”

This is such a common complaint that other users have gone viral after sharing their stories of restaurant shortages. Recently, a delivery driver went viral after asking users to stop ordering food from the restaurant. He cited difficulties with customer service and frequent availability issues as his top reasons for keeping customers from ordering. Late last year, another user went similarly viral after claiming they received a 5-piece chicken tender menu with hardly any chicken.

Additionally, Popeyes has come under fire online for its long wait times, which means that even if the restaurant stocks an item, it can take a while before they actually get it.

Back under Tiffany’s video, some people claimed these shortages weren’t the employees’ fault. “From someone who works at Popeyes, sometimes the truck never comes and we sell it all out,” one claimed.
