Authorities shot dead a man Tuesday in Hooper, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.
Lieutenant Cortney Ryan of the Weber County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a domestic violence call Tuesday afternoon in a subdivision near 3600 South and 5250 West when a man produced weapon.
Ryan said authorities opened fire on the dead man. He did not say what type of weapon the man made and did not say how many congressmen opened fire.
No deputies were injured in the shooting, according to the sheriff’s office.
This is the first police shooting in Utah this year. Hooper is located west of Riverdale on the eastern shore of the Great Salt Lake.
No further details were immediately released. Authorities continue to investigate.
