Police protect neighborhood, arrest man after shooting in Lexington




LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56/ WKYT) – A man is in custody after police said he opened fire in a house in Lexington.

It happened around 6 a.m. on Thursday, December 16 at a home in Easthills Dr. off Man O’ War Blvd.

Police said a man was going through what they believe to be a mental breakdown and opened fire in the home.

The family was able to get out safely and call officers.

Upon arrival, police asked several neighbors to shelter in place and ensure the area was secure.

They contacted the man and he peacefully surrendered to the officers.

He has been arrested and criminal charges are pending.

Police said no one was injured in the incident.

This area has been cleared.
