QUINCY, Mass. (WHDH) – According to officials, a 23-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly committing an indecent act in front of a woman on a Red Line train.
The MBTA Transit Police Department announced the arrest of Calebre Predelusfollowing an investigation launched after a woman contacted authorities while traveling from JFK-UMass to the Quincy Center.
Officials said it was around 9:30 a.m. Monday when the victim reported how a man sat directly across from her and on a train “committed a lewd act” while staring and laughing at the victim.
Police say the victim was able to take a picture of the suspect and share it with officers after the service was held at Quincy Center Station. The police were then able to use the photo to locate Predelus in the train car.
The 23-year-old Cambridge resident was removed and arrested on charges of open and gross indecency.
TPD detectives also allege that Calebre may be the same suspect implicated in similar incidents that occurred on MBTA lines, according to the department’s press release.
“TPD Detectives previously sought public assistance in identifying Calebre in connection with another similar incident – Reference a Transit Police tweet posted on February 17, 2023‘ the department said.
