Police hope these tattoos will help identify a woman’s body that washed ashore

Three months after her body washed ashore, pictures of a young woman’s tattoos were shared by detectives.
Sussex Police officers have tried to identify the woman and trace her friends and family to no avail.
Her body was found by the waterfront in Saltdean, Brighton on Tuesday December 20.
A citizen walking in the area called the police around 1:20 p.m.
In the weeks that followed, officers were unable to identify the woman.
Police have now released photos of a number of tattoos she had on her arms and legs in hopes someone will recognize them.
In a statement, Sussex Police said: “An extensive investigation has been carried out to try to identify her but so far this has been unsuccessful.
“The woman is white, believed to be between 20 and 25 years old, approximately 5’4” and of slim to medium build. She wore a purple sports bra, dark purple athletic leggings, and black Converse boots with the original white trim.
“She is not believed to have been in the water much more than 24 hours and inquiries to maritime authorities suggest she may have entered the water further west, with the tides taking her to Saltdean.”
Anyone who recognizes the tattoos or has information on the woman is asked to contact Sussex Police online or call 101 quoting serial number 598 dated 12/20. to call
