Police are looking for a tractor-trailer driver who hit a seriously injured man in a wheelchair

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Florida. – Miami-Dade Police are looking for a tractor driver who they say struck and seriously injured a man in a wheelchair and left the scene Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened just after 2 p.m. at Northwest 7th Avenue and 103rd Street in the Pinewood area, just west of Interstate 95.

An MDPD spokesman said medics took the victim to the Ryder Trauma Center. Police did not say if he was expected to survive.

The police did not describe the truck or its driver.
