Pink’s parody of “Stupid Girls” Hurt

Paris Hilton’s new book Paris: The MemoriesIt was officially released on March 14th. It’s an honest look at Hilton’s life and is shared in excerpts Us weeklyHilton writes about her sex tape and how she reacted to Pink parodying it in her 2006 video for the song “Stupid Girls.”
Speaking of her status as a sex symbol, Hilton wrote, “The world thinks of me as a sex symbol and that’s why I’m here because ‘symbol’ literally means ‘icon.’ But when people saw this sex tape, they didn’t say “icon” but “slut”. You said ‘whore’. And they weren’t shy.”
She then said of Pink’s video, “The whole video is a not at all subtle show of ‘porn paparazzi girls’ in general and me in particular, in a parody of my infamous sex tape.” She added that the tape was “against published and monetized by their will,” and continued, “Pink sang about ‘Outcasts and Girls With Ambitions’ and said, ‘That’s what I want to see.’ But she chose not to see it in me.”
However, Hilton added that despite all of this, she holds no grudges: “There is no such thing as a Pink Paris feud. That’s not a thing. I have the attention span of a mosquito, which means I’m bad at holding grudges. However, anger doesn’t help; Honesty does. So, I’m being honest now.”
She also wrote: “The release of this private footage has devastated me personally and professionally. It followed me to every audition and business meeting for years. Even now, in a male-dominated corporate world, I look around a conference table and know that most of the people sitting there have seen me naked in the most humiliating way imaginable. […] It’s out there waiting for my kids to face it one day.”
