People can’t get enough of the man who tried to save a kitten and stumbled upon 13

Less is more is the usual adage for many things, but it’s hard to argue when you’re being overtaken by kittens.

In a video shared on Facebook, Robert Brantley showed what happened when he started filming a little kitten on the side of the road.

“Left of work to go to the shooting range,” Brantley explained. “I passed a little kitten that I knew wouldn’t make it through the night and the woman wanted a cat for the farm; I figured I’d stop and save that thing.”

The kitten was friendly and immediately approached Brantley. But that was about when he noticed several heads sticking out of the grass; in another context it could have been the start of a horror movie attack. But in this case, Brantley was simply overwhelmed by a dozen or so kittens – many of whom tried to approach him and rub against his feet and ankles.

“Oh my god, I can’t take you all with me,” he says as the kittens run towards him.

A version reposted by Lauren René Allen on TikTok, where she added the caption “Why things like this never happen to me,” took the video to another level. To date, Allen’s version has been viewed more than 20 million times.

Another version posted to Twitter, in which @najihahshahrel joked that Brantley “just got cheated on by a kitty,” has been viewed almost 1 million times.

Brantley laughs as he talks about the kitten problem that has loomed in front of him, but for the people who were watching and didn’t have a dozen kittens darting their way, they just can’t identify.

“‘We have a kitten problem’ SIR I WOULD LIKE TO TRADE PROBLEMS,” one person wrote in response to Allen’s TikTok video.

“It doesn’t happen to me because I would take them all home and I would never turn them away,” added another.

As it turns out, so did Brantley. He posted an update showing all 13 kittens walking around in his car where he placed them for him to transport home. “The tactical Honda wasn’t prepared for his,” he joked. According to Brantley, the plan is to fatten up the cats and help them get good homes; He also seeks advice so that he can take care of the kittens.

Since Allen’s repost of the kittens went viral on TikTok (and Allen pointed people to the Brantleys), Brantley’s wife Courtney created an account where she shares updates with the kittens, such as: B. several of the cats lying in a cart next to Brantley’s dog and one of the kittens being bathed after a messy breakfast. And the plan is to share the journey with the internet.
