**Warning: Peaky Blinders Series 6 Spoilers!**

Peaky Blinders fans believe Cillian Murphy’s Tommy Shelby will die before season 6 ends after it was revealed that he has an inoperable brain tumor and has just a year to live.

Episode four of the acclaimed BBC drama aired on Sunday night and saw the gangster learn he has tuberculoma in his brainstem, a growth caused by the same bacteria as tuberculosis.

While the doctor explained that the disease was not contagious, he shared that the tumor would cause him to become completely dependent on his loved ones – and to make matters worse, several medical experts refused to operate on him because he was afraid he might bleed.

“At some point, you’re going to need people around you who love you very much,” the doctor said. “I understand that you have defeated many enemies, now you have a new one in you.”

Before completing the doctor’s visit, Tommy asked how long he had before he would be forced to rely on others for help.

“A year,” replied the GP. “Maybe 18 months.”

Viewers have been devastated by the news of Tommy’s ill health and have already begun to predict that the character will be dead before the series ends.

“I always knew Tommy was going to die this season,” one wrote, while another wrote, “Tommy is going to die isn’t she… I can’t hack this, that’s too far.”

Another struggled to come to terms with his illness, yelling, “I AM NOT EMOTIONALLY AND MENTALLY PREPARED TO LOSE HIM PLEASE DON’T DIE!”

However, some believe that Tommy will survive the series as they assume he will return for the Peaky Blinders movie.

As it stands at the moment, there is no official date for the upcoming film and details are few and far between.

Creator Steven Knight teased the news of its existence last year: “Covid has changed plans but I can say my plan from the start was to end Peaky with a movie.

“Peaky is back and with a bang. Following the forced production delay due to the Covid pandemic, we see the family in extreme danger and the stakes have never been higher.

“We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure our amazing fans will love it. As the TV series comes to an end, the story will continue in a different form.”

Have we seen Tommy’s last? Only time can tell…

Peaky Blinders continues on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
