Parents get into a fight with the referee at a kids’ baseball game

A TikToker has captured parents arguing with a referee during their kids’ little league baseball game.
Anna Hudson (@hudsonanne) posted a video on May 16 of the referee and parents screaming. The referee approaches the parents and says he will lose the team if they don’t stop screaming.
“The game is for your child,” says the referee. “You want to argue balls and shots in a little league game?”
In the TikTok caption, Hudson wrote that “Little League Baseball got INTENSE.” As of Thursday, Hudson’s video had over 12 million views.

Many commenters on the video expressed their support for the referee.
“I’m on the referee’s side,” commented @mrbdavis2.
“So embarrassing for the parents,” wrote @generaljury. “Good for the ump.”
“As a coach, manager and referee…I can’t tell you how many games have been ruined by parents. It’s little league y’all,” commented @rcmac319. “Let your kids have fun.”
In a follow-up TikTok, Hudson sat down with the referee named Jordan and had him tell his “side of the story.” He says one of the team’s coaches was very “quarrelsome” and ended up being kicked out of the game along with another team coach.
Jordan then says the parents have become “aggressive.”
“It’s fueled by the reactions of the coaches,” Jordan says of the behavior of parents in the minor league.
“Whenever the coaches act a certain way, the parents believe they can act a certain way.”
He also says he mustn’t “throw” viewers, like parents, out of the game. Instead, Jordan says he may sit out or quit the game in response to aggressive parents. He also says he will no longer referee because he just graduated from college.
Commenters on Hudson’s follow-up videos rooted for Jordan.
“Kudos to this young man!” @gallionheather commented. “His answers are even calm and level-headed.”
“Everything this young man said is 100% correct,” said @theofficial719. “Parents need to relax and realize that they are often the problem.”
