Pamela Anderson has announced that her Netflix documentary will ‘set a record’ around her personal and professional life.

The 54-year-old actress became a household name after her role as CJ Parker in the action drama Baywatch, which also made her turbulent love life a subject of public interest.

And now, the Barb Wire star is taking control of the story in an all-new special that’s been in the works for ‘several years,’ and will feature exclusive footage.

The streaming service confirmed the news on Twitter and wrote: ‘Pamela Anderson is ready to tell her story in a new documentary.

‘The film has been in the works for several years, which will feature the record-setting pop culture icon as soon as she looks back on her professional path and personal journey.’

Pamela took to Instagram and posted a handwritten letter that read: ‘My Life / A Thousand Imperfections / A Million Misperceptions / Crime, Wildness and Loss / Nothing to Live for / I can only surprise you / Not a victim, but a survivor / And live to tell the real story. ‘

Netflix has yet to announce the documentary’s title or official release date, but according to Variety, it will be directed by Ryan White and his son Pamela serves as one of the producers.

The model’s personal life has inspired Disney Plus’ latest controversial series Pam and Tommy – which portrays Lily James as Pamela and Sebastian Stan as Mötley Crüe rocker Tommy Lee on a sex tape Theirs was stolen and sold on the internet in the 1990s.

pass Lily and Sebastian’s sensational transformations aside, Pamela is said to be not overly thrilled that a traumatic part of her life is premiering weekly on the small screen.

A source told People: ‘After the tape was made public, it was a very traumatic situation and it’s not fair for her to have to endure this trauma, like a recurring wound.

‘Pamela deserves respect. She is a human being and a mother. There’s a sense of hypocrisy about it. ‘

Pam and Tommy is available to stream on Disney Plus.
