Olivia Newton-John’s daughter shared this heartbreaking update after her mother’s death – Best Life

The beloved Australian actor and musician has been battling breast cancer since 1992 Dame Olivia Newton-John sadly passed away in August. The news of her death at the age of 73 was immediately met with sadness from the public watching Fat star as an icon of its time.

Newton-John’s daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, with whom she was close, posted an emotional tribute the following day: “You’re my lighthouse mom. my safe place My heart area. It was and is an honor to be your baby and best friend,” she wrote on Instagram, affectionately calling her mom “my life giver, my teacher, my mommy.” Now, Lattanzi opens up again to share a touching update since her mother’s death. Before her death, Newton-John not only made a mark in the world of entertainment but also in the world of cancer research by establishing the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund. Through the charity, the star made it her mission to spread awareness of plant medicine as a form of cancer treatment. In particular, she advocated the use of medical marijuana and dietary supplements as symptom-relieving adjuncts to more traditional cancer treatments such as radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery.

In a 2020 interview with Andy Cohen on See what’s happening live, Newton-John shared that cannabis was a crucial part of her own symptom management. “It’s really helped me with the pain, with sleep, with anxiety, I think with inflammation,” she said. “I am very fortunate to be married to a wonderful man who is a herbal medicine man,” she added while speaking to him persons Early 2021. “Now he grows medicinal cannabis for me and it has been just wonderful. It helps me in all areas.”

Lattanzi, 36, took to social media this week to share a touching update following Newton-John’s death. She says she plans to honor her mother by continuing the late star’s cancer research.

Appears in a video alongside her cousin Tottie Goldsmith, Lattanzi implored her followers to register for the Oct. 9 Walk for Wellness, a fundraiser for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Center in Melbourne, Australia. “We really want to raise awareness and get as many of you to go with us or virtually. Raising awareness and raising funds is so important,” Lattanzi, who owns a legal marijuana farm, said in the video. “My mother’s dream was a gentler treatment for cancer. So I feel like the torch has been passed and this is my mission and my passion and I am so grateful to be doing this with my beautiful cousin for my mom.”

Along with her announcement, Lattanzi penned a touching note addressed directly to her mother. “I love you mom. I miss you every day. And I feel how you wrap yourself around me every moment and guide my every movement,” she wrote.

Lattanzi previously revealed her grief by posting old family photos and meaningful quotes on Instagram. On August 20, she shared a quote that read, “I’ve learned that grief is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give but can’t. All that unspent love gathers in the corner of your eye. the lump in your throat and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love without a place to go.

September 26 marked Newton-John’s 74th birthday and her family threw a dinner party to celebrate. Along with clips from the party itself, Lattanzi shared a throwback video from the Physically Singer on the 1994 show Olivia Newton-John’s Animal Friends. In it, a young Newton-John cradles a litter of white tiger cubs while feeding them milk.

“Happy birthday, Mama Bear. That’s you. A nature girl with the biggest heart. The most down to earth, most beautiful creature I’ve ever known,” Lattanzi captioned the clip. “I will carry you in my heart forever. I will continue your mission. I love you mom. Bigger than the whole universe.”
