Oakland Park residents say flooding is typical when a storm hits

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Local 10’s Alexis Frazier was on 58th Street in Oakland Park, where water levels are rising as the rain from the tropical storm eases.
Two brothers braved the elements, one on a bike and the other in a kayak.
When Alexis Frazier asked one of the brothers why they decided to come out, he replied that it was a beautiful day.
Another resident tried to buy milk from the local 7/11, but it was sandbagged to prevent water from entering.
Local residents said flooding is common in the area, but homeowners are happy they still have power.
The Florida Power and Light Company was seen patrolling the area.
